Advance registration is now closed. You may register onsite in Greenville. There is a $30 onsite processing fee in addition to the regular conference registration fee.

Calling all nominations. It’s that time of year to recognize your colleges for their outstanding work and contributions to NCOTA and the field of occupational therapy. All nomination information must be faxed or emailed by September 18th, 2009 or postmarked by September 16th, 2009.

Leadership and Advocacy: Making the Centennial Vision a Reality

Dr. Ginny Stoffel, Vice-President of AOTA will provide a call to action for all OT practitioners to join in collective efforts to assure that "Occupational therapy is a powerful, widely recognized, science-driven, and evidence-based profession with a globally connected and diverse workforce meeting society's occupational needs" (AOTA Centennial Vision). You will explore your own leadership capacity, hone your advocacy skills and discover ways that you can help shape the future for our profession.
Dr. Ginny Stoffel, PhD, OT, BCMH, FAOTA, has been an occupational therapist for more than 30 years, and throughout that journey has served in various leadership roles for AOTA and her state association, and has served several mental health and substance abuse organizations in the community. She is Chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a scientist with the Center for Addiction and Behavioral Health Research.

Professional Development/Educational Program
The conference will present over 50 Hours of educational sessions, including clinical knowledge and skills, career development, reimbursement and regulatory issues and topics related to 5 Special Interest Sections. Complete descriptions of the topics being presented on online here
- Earn up to 11 contact hours of CE credit all for a single conference registration
- Selected course topics: Teaching Patient Advocacy, The Use of Social Stories, Evaluating the Built Environment, OT and the Cardiac Population, Pediatric Feeding Disorders, Aquatics Therapy
- Half-day post-conference institutes on Sunday, October 4th-an additional 3.75 contact hours. Institutes have limited space and have a separate registration fee.

- Institute 2: How to Fabricate a Low Profile Radial Nerve Palsy Splint (limited to 20)

Saturday, 11:45am-12:30pm Annual Business Meeting of NCOTA, Inc.
Annual reports to update you on the operational and financial status of NCOTA. This is YOUR opportunity to voice your ideas, opinions and suggestions. Members do not have to register for conference to attend the annual business meeting. See August or September NCOTA newsletter for the business meeting agenda.
Saturday, 12:30-1:45pm Awards and Recognitions Luncheon and Ceremony
Join us to honor the professional contributions and accomplishments of our colleagues. The ceremony will begin at 1:15pm. Those not attending the luncheon may be able to join the ceremony if space is available. Registration for the luncheon is in addition to conference registration: $20.00.
