Complementary approaches, specifically the use of equine movement as a therapeutic tool, has become an increasingly popular intervention for both adults and children. These approaches may be used in place of, or alongside, traditional occupational therapy services. This session will review the therapeutic benefits of equine movement and provide clinicians with an overview of its advantages and referral considerations. When live equine movement is not feasible, high‑technology equine simulators offer a practical clinic‑based alternative. This presentation will examine translatable, evidence‑based research supporting the use of simulated equine movement across multiple diagnoses. Participants will gain hands‑on experience using an equine simulator and develop treatment activities applicable for use in clinical practice.
