Interprofessional Practice & Collaboration | Audience Level: Introductory
The Interprofessional Student Run Clinic (IP-SRC) at East Carolina University offers occupational and physical therapy services at no cost to those who are uninsured or underinsured in Eastern North Carolina. Students gain hands-on, interprofessional clinical experience under the supervision of licensed faculty. This student-led clinic also promotes professional development by having students be responsible for all administrative tasks, including patient communication, scheduling, and operations. This session will provide a process and potential framework for the successful development and integration of a graduate-level interprofessional student-run clinic, including interactive discussion of lessons learned during the institution of the IP-SRC and opportunities for attendees to reflect on the lessons learned in the development and implementation of a student-run clinic in their area.
